It is time for NWYC and it is in Nashville!!! I love when it is here. Yes it is my backyard but it is the best convention city I have gone to. Downtown Nashville is awesome. Everything is so close, open late, safe, and some great food.
So if your going to Nashville here are some of my favorite food joints all within walking distance.
Steak – Prime Cut on 2nd Ave. Don’t go to the Stockyard. It is $90 a person and not that great. You will be broke and disappointed. You can get a cab and do Ruth Chris.
Romance – Melting Pot for Dessert. You can do a meal but it is pricey. The Capital Grille, Merchants, and Palm have amazing food but are pricey and you need to dress up.
Value – Jacks, great b-que. Old Speghetti Factory. The public Library has food and you can catch up on the blogs and email.
Nashville – Wildhorse Saloon. Just need to go to say you been. Food is not that great. Pig and Pie has great b-que and pies. Noshville Delicatessen is a New York like deli. Wolfy’s a internationally known burger joint. Loveless Cafe is a drive from downtown but if you have time it is rated the top greasy spoon breakfast place in the US.
Late Night – The Sportsman Grille inside the Hilton across from the Sommet Center. Get the super bowl nachos it will feed 6-8 men.
Things to Do – Country Music Hall of Fame is ok if you love country music but if not save your money its not that great. Frist Center has nothing special right now but I love going there. Tennessee Performing Arts Center has a play and an Opera playing. Nashville Symphony is playing Beethoven and Superman. The symphony hall is amazing!!
Country Music Hot Spots – Tootsies, Legends, and the Stage. Not into country try Rocketown for some indie music.
Questions about Nashville just ask.
